“Mom and dad are so much happier now that our new caregiver takes them outside and lets them really enjoy life. It’s really lifted a weight off our shoulders. Thank you Qualicare!”

Specialized Nonmedical Support for Changing Needs
Support built around the person, not the diagnosis
A diagnosis may explain why life has changed, but it does not tell us how a person wants to live. We build support around the individual’s abilities, routines, communication style, family resources and goals.
Qualicare Home Care Greater Austin provides nonmedical Personal Assistance Services for people living with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, multiple sclerosis, cancer, brain injury, disability and other conditions that affect daily life. We also support people returning home after surgery, hospitalization or rehabilitation.
What Specialized Support Means in the Home
Specialized support does not mean practicing medicine. It means understanding how a condition can affect movement, communication, energy, judgment and routine, then adapting daily assistance accordingly. Care may include personal care, meals, mobility support, permitted medication reminders, supervision, transportation, meaningful activity and family communication.
We coordinate with family and authorized professionals, follow the written service plan and report meaningful changes. Skilled nursing, therapy and medical treatment remain with the appropriate licensed providers.
Care That Changes With the Person
Needs may change gradually or after a sudden event. We review what is working, where the family is stretched and whether the person is becoming more or less independent. The schedule and tasks can change without rebuilding the relationship from the beginning.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is specialized home care the same as home health?
No. Home health usually refers to skilled clinical services ordered by a medical provider. Qualicare Home Care Greater Austin provides nonmedical personal assistance and companion support. The two services can operate alongside each other.
Can you work with hospice, therapy or home health?
Yes. With proper permission, we can coordinate daily routines and share relevant observations while those licensed organizations provide their own clinical services.
Do you support people with disabilities who are not seniors?
Yes. Services are based on the person’s needs and service plan, not age alone. Learn more about disability and special needs support at home.

Our 360 Approach:
Home Care Services that Change With You
The first step on our journey will be the initial in-home consultation. We’ll meet with your family and discuss your current needs and concerns. Your caregiver will then begin visiting your loved one’s home and providing the needed assistance.
As we work together, we’ll discuss changes in those needs, your loved one’s health and well-being, additional services that may be needed, and a variety of other topics. Our Care Experts and caregivers are always looking for ways to improve the care we provide, ensuring we always provide exceptional care for your loved one.
