“Mom and dad are so much happier now that our new caregiver takes them outside and lets them really enjoy life. It’s really lifted a weight off our shoulders. Thank you Qualicare!”

Mindfulness Activities & Services for Seniors
Mindfulness can mean different things to different people, but at its core, it’s the process of bringing one’s attention back to a present moment.
This philosophy is something that not only helps people better appreciate their day-to-day lives, but it’s been known to improve many other elements of daily life, from mood to comfort.
Making life easier and more comfortable for clients is one of Qualicare’s top priorities, which is why we offer mindfulness activities for seniors as part of our personal care services.
Our compassionate caregivers are available to provide support to clients 24/7, so you’ll never have to worry about whether your loved one has the physical or emotional support they need.
Our Mindfulness Activity Services for Seniors
Living alone can be challenging for anyone, but for seniors with mobility and strength limitations, it can begin to negatively impact their mental health. They can feel isolated and cut-off from the rest of the world.
Qualicare has a number of helpful mindfulness activities for elderly clients, everything from breathing exercises to mindfulness meditation for seniors can be offered through our support care services.
For clients that have never tried these types of activities before, our caregivers can offer assistance through things like guided meditation for seniors. This helps make mindfulness both fun and relaxing, since clients won’t have to navigate these exercises alone.
Best of all, you can enjoy the peace of mind that Qualicare’s friendly caregivers are available to give your loved one as much or as little assistance as they need, 365 days a year.
Benefits of Mindful Activities for the Elderly
For many people, one of the biggest challenges that comes with age is maintaining strong mental fortitude. This is even more challenging for those who experience conditions like Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Mindfulness activities for seniors is a great way for clients to spend time each day focusing their thoughts. This not only helps with maintaining positive mental health, but taking time for mindfulness each day helps maintain clarity.
Guided meditation for seniors with dementia is a great way to help center both their emotions and their minds. Even simple breathing exercises to help clients slow their thoughts and control the pace of their breathing can help improve cognitive awareness in some cases.
Not to mention, guided meditation for dementia is a great way to help clients remain calm and relaxed, when they go through bouts of confusion or panic.
With mindfulness activities as a part of their everyday routine, your loved one can live a happier, more relaxed life, whether they’re in their own home or living in a residential care facility.

Senior Mindfulness Activities Frequently Asked Questions:
Where Can Qualicare Clients Access Mindfulness & Meditation Services for the Elderly?
Meditation and mindfulness services for elderly clients can be arranged for those living at home, in nursing facilities, hospitals, or within retirement communities.
What if Clients Have Their Own Mindfulness Activities They’d Like to Perform?
We think that’s great! If clients have specific types of activities (i.e., mindfulness meditation for seniors, yoga, tai chi, etc.) that they’re already doing as part of their routine, our compassionate caregivers are happy to lend a helping hand.
Independence is something that Qualicare strives to provide for clients whenever possible, so if they have their own mindfulness regimen, we won’t force them to change it. We’ll just offer whatever support we can to make the client’s activities easier and more comfortable.
What About Mindfulness Activities That Clients Can’t Perform at Home?
When client transportation services are available locally to clients, our caregivers will be happy to take clients to appointments (i.e., yoga, meditation class for elderly clients, etc.) whenever possible.
We understand that clients may have specific types of mindfulness activities they enjoy with specialized services that our caregivers can’t provide directly. In these cases, we’ll try to work with clients to ensure they can still attend and participate in these off-site activities.
Can Caregivers Support Clients That Have Significant Cognitive Decline?
Qualicare understands that different clients have unique needs, and our patient, compassionate caregivers are always ready and willing to help clients with any needs they may have.
For clients with significant cognitive decline, caregivers can still assist with basic mindfulness techniques, such as controlled breathing exercises or soothing music and imagery.
We’ll work tirelessly to ensure your loved one is as happy and comfortable as possible, even if their mental faculties have begun to deteriorate.

Bernadette’s Story
See how the 360° Approach works for Bernadette
Bernadette came to Qualicare worried that her loss of mobility would keep her from the activities and people she loves. So we designed a 360° Care Plan to help Bernadette keep her independence. Thanks to Qualicare, Berna’s still playing at her local lawn bowling club, and she never misses her granddaughter’s dance recitals.
