“Mom and dad are so much happier now that our new caregiver takes them outside and lets them really enjoy life. It’s really lifted a weight off our shoulders. Thank you Qualicare!”

Errand Running Services for Seniors
For some, errands are a chore that can throw a wrench into a relaxing Saturday afternoon. For others, errands are a wonderful excuse to get out of the house, stretch their legs, and get some fresh air.
While not every region that Qualicare services can offer transportation and errands services, we do our best to service our clients’ needs as much as possible.
When these senior errand services are available, our compassionate caregivers are always happy to assist clients with whatever errands they need performed.
This way, you can rest assured that your loved one can always access the things they need to help them make the most of their daily life.
Our Errand Running Services for Seniors
Whether it’s groceries, prescriptions, or less essential errands for seniors, like picking up yarn from the store for knitting or grabbing some sweet treats from a local bakery, there are plenty of errands we might do on a weekly basis.
Unfortunately, for seniors that have difficulty getting around due to limited mobility or strength, going out to perform these weekly duties can become a stressful, dangerous ordeal. What was once a beloved part of the weekly routine can transform into a frustrating obstacle course for seniors.
By running errands for the elderly, Qualicare is ensuring that our clients have the opportunity to stay home where they can stay comfortable and safe, while our caregivers perform these weekly errands for them.
We understand that you’ve got a busy life to lead too, and through these types of services, our caregivers can give you the peace of mind that your loved one always has everything they need, and they aren’t putting their own health and wellness at risk to get them.
How Can an Errand Running Service Help Seniors?
Throughout the coldest months of the year, everyone has to contend with challenges in transportation that we don’t face most of the time – ice, snow, sleet, apart from slips and falls, it’s extremely easy to spend a little too much time outside in the cold and catch a chill.
Even when the weather is nice, there’s always risks with travel, such as tripping on uneven surfaces, or missing a step going in and out of buildings. These may not seem like a huge deal to the average person, but to a senior, these elements can lead to serious, life-threatening injuries.
Also, seniors that have limited mobility or reduced vision may not be able to drive their own vehicles anymore, which can leave them at the mercy of public transportation when they need to go out.
Our caregivers will be glad to lend a helping hand by performing those weekly errands for them, so that they can avoid facing these unavoidable dangers alone.
Best of all, through our support, clients have access to our services 24/7, 365 days a year. So, no matter how busy life might get for you, your loved one will always have whatever assistance they need.

Errand Running Services Frequently Asked Questions:
Where Can Qualicare Clients Access Errand Services for the Elderly?
Caregivers can run errands for seniors that are living at home, in nursing facilities, hospitals, or within retirement communities.
What if a Client Wants to Come Along During Senior Errand Services?
It’s important to remember that health and wellness are Qualicare’s top priorities. While we strive to help seniors maintain the highest level of independence possible, in some cases, it may pose a safety risk for seniors with certain mobility limitations to come along for errands.
However, our compassionate caregivers will talk with clients, so that they don’t feel slighted by these types of situations. When safety is less of a concern, caregivers may give clients the opportunity to join them on errands at the client’s request.
Are There Any Errands for Seniors Caregivers Won’t Do?
This is a difficult question to answer, because Qualicare strives to provide as much personal care support as each client requires, and to treat each client’s case independently to suit each client’s personality and preferences.
However, when caregivers are asked to perform errands for the elderly that would require traveling excessive distances, or when requested items are deemed detrimental to the client’s health by their doctors (i.e., alcohol, sugary foods, etc.), they may have to politely decline.
How Do Caregivers Pay for Things When Running Senior Errand Services?
Budgets for items purchased during errands will be included in the client’s monthly costs of service through Qualicare.
When special circumstances arise, additional costs can simply be added to future billing cycles. This way, clients don’t have to worry about the immediate costs of errand running services relating to things like prescriptions or groceries.
