Safe Caregiving During COVID-19
Our commitment to your health & safety. How we’re helping:
-
Equipping all caregivers with PPE.
This means they can safely provide care to your loved one, while keeping everyone protected. -
Offering COVID-19 safety protocol training programs.
These programs help our in-home caregivers mitigate risk by providing education on proper respiratory etiquette and infection control practices. -
Caregivers are self-monitoring for symptoms daily and between shifts.
If any of our caregivers detect symptoms of COVID-19, we have additional caregivers who are ready to help. -
Caregivers are following all local health authority guidelines.
We are keeping our caregivers informed with regards to screening, testing and self-isolation procedures as outlined by infectious disease experts.
Message from our President
COVID-19 has brought uncertainty to life as we know it, especially for seniors and those already managing illnesses. We understand how unsettling it can feel to be amongst a population facing a greater risk of contracting the virus or to love someone who is. When it comes to the care we provide during these difficult times there are two critical promises that we have made to our valued clients:
First, we will take every measure to protect you or your loved one from contracting COVID-19, and
Second,
you or your loved one will continue to receive regularly scheduled and evolving care without interruption.
At Qualicare, we are in the business of helping families navigate uncharted territory and our plan to care for clients is always met with the same calculated and compassionate response. Here are several ways we have heightened our already cautious approach to care:
1. We’ve taken action to prevent infection,,
by implementing more frequent hand washing measures and the use of hand sanitizer, persistent use of disinfectants, and ongoing COVID-19 screening to ensure our caregivers are healthy when visiting clients.
2. We’ve provided all caregivers with PPEso they can operate safely, protecting both themselves and our clients.
3. We’ve implemented training programs for our in-home caregivers on COVID-19 with emphasis given to elevated safety protocols.
Caregivers are self-monitoring for symptoms every day and before each shift. If any concern is present, another caregiver will be sent to provide care.
They are also receiving real-time updates as new information and resources are released by public health and infectious disease experts to best protect their clients.
We are proud of our caregivers. As always, these trained and experienced professionals are devoted to providing exceptional care to their patients, no matter the circumstances. They recognize their work as an essential service and will continue to provide care with generosity, intentionality, and extra caution during this time.
It brings us comfort knowing that the safest place for you or your loved one is at home and it’s our honor to continue to provide care as a healthy, viable option. We look forward to the day that we can move past COVID-19. Until then, know that you are not alone. You can expect the same high-quality care you’re used to and our commitment to the highest standards in care and safety measures to protect you and those you love from COVID-19. We will continue to navigate this together.
