However, if it is in your personal life, you need to find out if it is something that can be worked through with therapy, or if it is something or someone you need to spend less time with to help alleviate your stress. It may just be that you need to establish boundaries with certain family members in order to better coexist.

Second, find a place you can go to relax when the stress does become overwhelming. Whether it is a support group or a quiet place where you can rest, you want to have somewhere that you can go or someone you can talk to when the stress becomes too difficult to manage on your own.

Finally, you may want to use meditation techniques or other calming activities to find a sense of calm when the stress comes on strong. Relaxing exercises include:

  • Exercising/walking
  • Journaling
  • Gardening
  • Listening to music
