Indy Toor
My name is Indy Toor and I’m from Qualicare Edmonton South. I am the owner and the Director of Care for this location. As a Registered Nurse, I’ve always been passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care. I was drawn to Qualicare because of its holistic, client-centered approach — it wasn’t just about caregiving; it was about truly supporting families through complex and emotional times.
I really like working for Qualicare because I reached a point where I had seen so many different gaps in the healthcare system. As nurses in acute care settings, we often feel short on time despite how much we can do for our patients. I found that having my own company would be a meaningful way to make a difference in people’s lives, and Qualicare actually lets me do that.
Becoming a Qualicare franchise owner allowed me to combine my healthcare background with my entrepreneurial spirit to make a real difference in my community.
My background is in nursing, and over the years, I’ve worked closely with patients and families facing a wide range of health challenges — from chronic illness to complex recovery needs. This experience gave me a deep understanding not only of medical care but also of the emotional and logistical challenges families go through.
Personally, I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be when a loved one needs support, and how important it is to have trusted, compassionate help. These experiences shaped my approach at Qualicare — I focus on empathy, advocacy, and creating customized care plans that truly meet each family’s unique needs. My professional training, combined with personal insight, allows me to guide families with both skill and heart.
What I enjoy most is seeing the impact we have, not just on the clients but on their entire family. Whether it’s giving a daughter peace of mind that her parent is safe at home, or helping a family navigate a difficult healthcare journey, it’s incredibly rewarding to know we’re part of making their lives a little easier and a lot more hopeful.
