“My experience with Qualicare began last year in 2016. My mother at age 92 had been placed on Hospice. I was her sole caregiver at the time. My mother lived in her own home and My husband and I live 4 houses down the same street. Most of my time was spent at my mother’s house. I was running back and forth every day. When I was at my home I felt guilty for not being with my mother. When I was at her home I felt that I was neglecting my husband. My son mentioned contacting Oualicare to see if they could help. He knew the owner of the company Steve Kidwell and we had friends that had used them and were very pleased. I gave Steve a call in November and explained our situation. I was both physically and mentally exhausted. He gave me some great advice. I explained to my Mother that I had taken on the role of the caregiver rather than the daughter she use to have. After many conversations with both Steve and my Mother I was finally able to convince her to give it a try. We started with Qualicare in mid January. Mom always insisted that she remain in her home and never wanted to end up in a care facility. They sent out the sweetest lady for her daily care. Mom soon enjoyed the extra company and their time together. The night ladies were great with her. This allowed me to finally get some sleep knowing she was being well cared for and safe from falling when she got up at night. Linda Larson, the Qualicare RN worked along with our Hospice nurse providing excellent care during the course of treatment. Something that is very common in nursing homes. The morning of June 17th, around 11:00 in the morning, with her pastor my husband and myself by her side mom took her last breath on earth and entered heaven. She died in her own bedroom of her own home just as she wanted it to be.
