Heather & Thomas
I’m Heather, and my husband Thomas and I are the owners of Qualicare New Braunfels. We’ve seen the transition of healthcare and how important it is to get patients back home into their environment – just for their spirit and their heart, and the joy of being closer to family and friends rather than in a facility where they’re more limited and have less freedom. It can be crushing to them as they age and change and go through the things of life that make things more difficult. This has given us an opportunity to help get patients back home into their environments where they’re more comfortable, happier, and just have a much better life.
What Sets Us Apart
We offer anything from companionship all the way to end-of-life care, including respite care for families who are the main caregivers and just need a little bit of time to have “me time.” I understand what this looks like from a personal aspect – I’ve had to walk through hospice with my grandpa and my stepdad, so I know how important it is to have that little bit of relief and support.
We go beyond the day-to-day activities of daily living like showering, bathing, brief changes, and taking clients to doctor’s visits. We even encourage outings because there are a lot of people who are lonely at this time of their lives and really need to have that companionship.
