Health, Wellness & Mindfulness in Edmonton East

Stay positive, stay busy, and use downtime to practice self-care.

Some tips to help manage our minds

  1. Limit the amount of information you consume. Set 1-2 times a day to be in the know, but only to get a status update and/or important information to be informed.
  2. Focus on the things you can control to take care of you, your loved ones and the community.
    • Apply social distancing
    • Sanitize services
    • Wash your hands often
    • Don’t touch your face
    • Cover your mouth when you cough and your nose when you sneeze
    • Avoid touching your face whenever possible
    • Leave the face masks for medical professionals, caregivers and people with compromised immune systems
    • Avoid nonessential travel
    • Keep your immune system (see headline below for tips)
  3. Keep yourself occupied

We need our immune systems like never before! Some general tips to help boost your immune system:

  1. Increase consumption of fruits and vegetables, including citrus fruits and leafy greens
  2. Avoid sugar-laden foods
  3. Ensure you get 30-60 minutes of exercise each day
  4. Minimize your stress level and get adequate sleep

Ways to Stay Connected with your family through Social Distancing:

  • Use technology – FaceTime, Whatsapp Video, Google Hangouts, Facebook Portal to visit with your loved ones virtually
  • Keep your kids busy and your parents entertained – present a play on the front lawn of grandma & grandpa’s house – they can watch through the window
  • Talk on the phone instead of texting to connect with family.
