Chris & Dana Hiser
I was transitioning out of the pharmaceutical world, looking for an opportunity to do more good and, most importantly, feel great about the work I was doing. I was always envious of people who loved what they did, regardless of how much they earned. This was what I was looking for, and it’s been paying dividends. There is no greater feeling than getting that call or Google review from a family who was lost and didn’t know what to do at their time of need—and we were able to make one part of that easier for them. I never got that feeling in corporate America, but I get that every day with Qualicare. Before joining Qualicare, I was in the pharmaceutical world working for one of the largest wholesalers in the world. My team was responsible for several strategic customers and specifically their generic drug formulary. While we were helping people, it just isn’t the same as what we offer at Qualicare.
That same passion for making a meaningful impact in people’s lives inspired my transition into home care.
Home care provides a profound opportunity to directly support individuals in their most personal spaces—their homes—especially seniors, who hold a special place in my heart. Inspired by the deep bonds I shared with my grandparents and parents, I understand the emotional, physical, and psychological support seniors need to maintain dignity, safety, and comfort as they age. Helping them is not just a service; it is a heartfelt commitment.
Dana and I both had some personal experiences with people in our families who have since passed and watched our parents struggle with sorting everything out—being stressed out trying to raise their own families while taking care of their parents. The burden that was brought on our families was immense, and seeing that firsthand as a kid is eye-opening. It stuck with us. Seeing the family dynamics change is a lot. Our parents did everything they could, along with their siblings, to balance their families and take care of their parents. In Dana’s family, it particularly pushed family members away. It’s sad to see that happen, and we both wish that wasn’t the case. Hopefully, we can help shed that burden from the families we help. Knowing that Dana, myself, and our small team are making a difference in people’s lives—the calls we get or face-to-face moments when working with their loved ones—is like no other feeling. Money can’t buy that feeling.

We have recently partnered with a newer hospice that takes a different approach—one that is more aligned with how we want to take care of our clients.
